Pickup waiting at bus terminal after a long and quite difficult journey was wonderful.Tea and coffee and water are always available in reception which is run by extremely friendly, helpful, and caring staff with good English. Close walk to main Street with tourist sights and restaurants. During my stay the weather became really cold with a freezing wind but I was offered a blanket and given a heater. The biggest asset for my stay was the guide attached to the hotel Mr Souk who is a knowledgeable lifetime local of generations, and has exceptional English. We took a tour of the Plain of Jars and Old Capital and his guiding and ability to pass on so much information and experiences of his family really completed our stay. He was patient, and adapted to our interests and because the weather was so cold and I had bought nothing warm to Laos he even went to his house and loaned me his spare puffer jacket letting me keep it for the remainder of my stay.
