The caretaker was very polite and cooked is incredible dinner. If you want to do the Safari, this place is perfect. We booked a Safari with getyourguide but you can also book directly with them.

Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the guest house free of charge. The guest house features family rooms. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They booked a safari in Wilpattu only 1.5 days before our arrival and everything was very well organised. The safari itself was much better than expected: we had the luck to see 4 leopards, a sloth bear and 4 golden jackals, on top of many beautiful birds and reptiles. The resort provided breakfast and lunch to take on the safari, as well as snacks and drinks. Everything was very tasty and plenty. Also breakfast and dinners were very tasty and more than we could eat. All in all, we had a very good stay. Thanks so much!!!!

I wish I had more than one night in this beautiful property. From before arrival to departure the hosts could not have done more to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. They reached out to see if they could offer any assistance and after hearing we were travelling via train, offered to pick us up in their tuk. Although it was only 2 km from the station, we were grateful as it started raining just before we arrived. On arrival we were offered a welcome drink and shown the rooms. It’s a very private property, set apart from the main house, and offers 2 separate rooms which are perfect for families and small groups. The rooms are well designed and appointed with mosquito nets, a/c and hot water. There are great views from inside and out, with a number of different areas to sit, relax and enjoy the lake views. We enjoyed a fantastic home cooked dinner in the outdoor covered dining area and breakfast in the elevated hut on the lakefront which was perfect for watching all the birds. The dining area also had a fridge (if you want to byo), kettle and filtered water. We chose this place due to its proximity to Hurulu (the hosts also helped with organising the safari), but I hope to return and enjoy more of the great food and hospitality.

From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the wonderful breakfast selection – it was simply delicious and had something for everyone. The staff is incredible – so friendly, helpful, and always willing to go above and beyond to ensure guests have a pleasant experience. The cleanliness of the hotel is top-notch, and you can tell that great attention is paid to every detail. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality of service and comfort provided. Everything was just perfect. I can’t recommend this place enough! Truly an unforgettable experience.

The homestay features some units that have a balcony and lake view, and each unit has a private bathroom and a desk. At the homestay, units come with bed linen and towels. I’ve stayed at Oleena Homestay before and loved it, so I’m back again. I like the serenity of the place set among trees and plants and bird songs. And the hosts, Jeewa and Masha are wonderful people with their lovely daughter Oleena. The breakfast were sumptuous and they are able to arrange savoury lunch and dinner 😋. Masha is a great cook. 😍 The garden rooms come with your own private balcony. One may have the food at the balcony or at the nice airy dining hut. Jeewa was able to arrange trips around the area. Excellent hospitality. 😊
