We absolutely loved our stay at Sigiri Lion Lodge. Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely host and were offered a few options to choose our room. The room was spacious and clean. Really comfortable beds and the aircon worked great. The building is really nice with a few floors and a nice and quiet location. Breakfast is not included but we added it for our last day, plenty and delicious. They have a laundry service as well, with finally some nice smelling clothes😁

Fun place to stay! The owners were really characterful and friendly. It's right in the jungle and the garden is like a jungle too. The room was great, very clean, hot running water and really well kitted out rooms - Good AC, a stocked fridge with cold drink minibar type setup, kettle, tea/coffee, a big washing bowl handy for washing clothes. The entrance to Sigriya is directly opposite the access road to this place - you could not stay any closer, so ideal for an early morning start up the rock. The Breakfast here is absolutely stunning, 18 different items, all cooked by the host in the morning, hoppers, pancakes, little omelets, jaffles.. it just keeps coming out! We had our own tuktuk so driving around, going out at night wasn't a big deal, and the owner can easily organise a tuktuk pickup as this guesthouse is set back into the jungle. A 5min walk from main road in the daylight but maybe not something to try in the dark. We would happily stay again!

Excellent place to stay for the price. A lot of animals and nature to see there. Breakfast was very nice.

Very nice and service oriented staff and funny manager. They will help you with everything you have just to ask them. Had a very delicious dinner with a variety of curry's. The rooms are good. Bed and towels are clean too.

We had a wonderful stay at this unique accommodation right in the middle of the jungle! With rooftop viewpoints, a tranquil pool, and outstanding service, this place truly offers a special experience. Even though it's located a bit off the beaten path, the atmosphere more than makes up for it—you might not want to leave at all. The included breakfast was so generous it practically lasted us all day. In the evening, there was a great selection of local and Western dishes made with high-quality ingredients (though portions were on the smaller side). The peaceful pool area was perfect for unwinding, and the staff really took Sri Lankan hospitality to the next level. Occasional evening power fluctuations were handled smoothly with a temporary diesel generator, but it switched off well before bedtime, leaving only the soothing jungle sounds. For mobile work, this place may not be ideal—the Wi-Fi relies on a mobile connection, which wasn't strong enough for demanding online tasks. But for a relaxing holiday segment in Sri Lanka, this place gets our full recommendation! We arrived by public bus from Kandy, changing at Dambulla, and then took a Tuk Tuk from the Sigiriya bus stop to the accommodation for 1000 rupees. During our stay, we rented a scooter in Sigiriya, while other guests used rental Tuk Tuks to get around.

The room was very nice and cozy, with a cute balcony and a very nice view into the family garden. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. The free cooking class was also amazing. We learned so much about the traditional foods and culture in Sri Lanka. Wish we could’ve stayed here longer!

Our stay at the Jungle Eco Lodge, run by Kumari and her wonderful family, was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and right at home. The entire family was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The service was outstanding – from the pick-up and drop-off service to their excellent recommendations for activities in the area. Thanks to their tips, we enjoyed a bullock cart ride, a traditional cooking class, a boat trip, stunning wood carvings, and even discovered great clothing stores. Even on rainy days, Kumari and her family had creative ideas to ensure we made the most of our time. The food was an absolute highlight. Both the breakfast, tailored to our preferences, and the dinner were plentiful, incredibly delicious, and prepared with so much love. A special memory was created by the family’s children (6 and 10 years old), who guided us around the village, explained various plants, and took us to a local temple. They lovingly played with our 1-year-old son, giving us parents a small but precious moment to relax. Kumari’s father surprised us with a free tour of Sigiriya, showing us the nearby lake and a stunning viewpoint of Lion Rock and Pidurangala Rock. This level of hospitality went far beyond our expectations and truly touched our hearts. The room was clean, thoughtfully decorated, and equipped with air conditioning, making our stay very comfortable. We are deeply grateful to Kumari and her family for these unforgettable days. We felt incredibly at home and would highly recommend the Jungle Eco Lodge to anyone looking for an authentic, warm, and comfortable stay near Sigiriya and Dambulla. Harsha and his family are super friendly hosts. He lives with his wife, mother and very cute children in a beautiful spot, very close to the main street, but far away enough from the road to be very quiet and calming. They started their homestay around 8 months ago, which means everything is still very new. The room is nice, clean and the huge bed is especially comfortabele. Harsha is still also a farmer and runs a plantation around his house filled with numerous crops. The homestay is in the middle of his impressive and very beautiful garden. We got a very nice (and affordable) cooking class from him and his friendly wife. We started by gathering the ingrediënts from the garden and Harsha can tell you a lot about them from his expertise. We ended up making delicious Sri Lankan food and learnt a lot about Sri Lankan cuisine. With all 10s in his reviews we hope to bring him and his family good fortune in the future.

It is a very private treehouse room in beautiful nature with a view of the pidurangala rock. Amazing dinner as well.
