Jose went above and beyond to help us out whilst we stayed here! Was super communicative, and helped us order taxis to the bus station early in the morning, looked after our bags whilst we went on an overnight tour on the lake and so much more! Showers were hot, and beds super comfy! We had the breakfast before our early morning tour which was also great. Would highly recommend staying here :)

Richar, Lucrezia and Isabella are very lovely people and very generous hosts. Richar told us about the island and showed us around, Lucrezia’s cooking is truly wonderful and Isabella is a very nice girl, who would play cards with us in the evening. The rooms are very clean, there is a hot shower and it’s an easy walk from the port of Amantani. The island itself is so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect rest. At night the stars are magestic with Milky Way visible with naked eye. I would highly recommend staying at Richar’s place to experience the magic of the island in its authenticity. Also, from what I’ve read it is much better for the families who live on the island to book a stay directly with them rather than through an agency.

My stay at Tikawasi was such a special experience. I instantly felt so welcome- José Luis helped me to organise my transport and picked me up from the boat too. I had delicious meals made by Pilar, and it was so special to eat and talk altogether with other guests. The island and this home is extremely peaceful and beautiful. I am so grateful that I was able to stay here and with such a kind family.

Great place to stay. Everything was clean. Great shower and i liked how the room looked. Very friendly staff. She made us breakfast to go because we had to leave early. Very close near the busstation.

The room is cozy and not too cold (for Peruvian standards in winter). The host was incredibly kind, he helped us by keeping our backpacks all day long and with recommendations. Breakfast was also rich and tasty.

Amazing hot shower - good pressure, very hot water. The room was very clean and spacious. There was a small heater in the room, which definitely helped to keep the room warmer, taking in account that it was -2-4C outside at night. Breakfast was simple but decent - scrambled egg, fresh juice, fruits, bread, cheese, coffee, etc. Staff was very nice and sweet, I think they spoke only Spanish (though I didn't try any English with them) The internet also worked well, though I didn't use it much

I am giving this a score of 10 because of the amazing individual running this place. At 4:30am he got a call from me asking if I could check in early - no problem, see you soon. He helped me with how to get my Bolivia visa, and when that was done and I had the afternoon available, he helped me put together a tour of the Uros Islands for a fraction of the normal price. The place is good value for money, a short walk from the historical buildings and the Bolivian Embassy. Its nothing fancy, but you don't expect that at the price.
