The communication is not always easy but we try our best through a translation app. The food our host cooked for us was out of this world, probably some of the best food we had in Vietnam over a month of travelling there! Her husband took us on a day trip on the lake, we had the best time and the region is definitely worth a visit it's gorgeous. The common bathroom was clean and everyone in the homestay was respectful.

No one was around to receive me, but they told me to let myself in and get comfortable. The dinner was sized for 2-3 people and I was a solo traveler, but it was delicious. The breakfast was also good and both meals were reasonably priced. This is March and the temperature was cold, but the room was cozy with a heater and warm blankets. The only drawback was the booking description states ‘private bathroom’, but they are all shared facilities.

This homestay is run by a fantastic family who made us feel very welcome and comfortable. To make it even better, it is in a fantastic location. When we arrived, the bridge was out, and they came to meet us and helped us with our luggage, which was greatly appreciated. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The balcony had excellent views of the rice fields, mountains, jungle, and lake.. There is a communal area upstairs, and the view from there is even better. In the evenings the family cook fresh food which we ate on a table with other guests. The food was delicious, and it was a great way to meet other travellers and hear about their adventures and experiences in Vietnam and beyond. The homestay also offers breakfast. The homestay owns their own boat and kayak. We went on the 5-hour boat tour, which was lovely, and enjoyed kayaking out to the island. It is also possible to go fishing with the owner if there isn't a boat tour on the same day. We enjoyed a 10 mile hike through the jungle, which we booked through the homestay, one of the best walks we have done in Vietnam, but you must have some experience of trekking. We enjoyed waking straight out from the homestay along the road, which went around the lake. Two miles from the homestay, you'll find another village, and I enjoyed some pho here on two occasions. A very good location, easy accessed by bus and very close to the boat station, only 2 minutes walking to the boat station and about 10 minutes walking to the camping area, very nice view of the lake. The hostess went extra miles to support us during our stay.
