I very much enjoyed my stay at Catba Papillon - the garden is a place of serenity, away from the hustle and bustle of the town. I extended my stay 3 times as I did not want to leave. The property has mopeds so although a little out of the main centre, you can get around easily.

Spacious rooms with individual lockers, delicious breakfast and a very helpful and welcoming staff. A special thank you goes to Gem, the owner, who stayed calm and helped me with no hesitation when I needed urgent medical help. A true gem!

Everything was perfect and exactly as described. The room was very clean and included everything that was in the listing. The quality also matched previous photos. The guest house is within walking distance of a famous crab soup restaurant, across a busy street. The alley where it is located is very peaceful and quiet. The room I stayed in had no noise. It was within walking distance or by bike to many famous attractions. I would happily stay here again. There is also a drink and sweets shop inside the guest house, where you can order drinks and snacks.

A quiet three rooms homestay in a quiet alley just outside Cat Ba Town, in a local setting. The host, Phuong, and her family are simply amazing and take exceptional care of the guests. They told us to feel like at home and we really did. You'll get advice and help with anything you may need. Breakfast is true Vietnamese cuisine, so be ready for a taste adventure: sticky rice, pumpkin porridge, bao or banh mi with Vietnamese coffee. There's a decent beach 15 minutes' walk away.

Beautiful rooms, i loved the vibrant decor, made me feel on holiday. The hosts are incredible people, so generous and genuinely caring. Breakfast was delicious, all necessities are near by, great location to explore cat ba from. I fell ill during my 3 night stay with a stomach bug, Duyen and her husband took care of me as though i was family.

Cat Ba Mystery is exceptional, offering genuine warmth and hospitality. Thanh greeted us warmly, even letting us choose the room we felt most comfortable in. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained. Thanh and her lovely family genuinely care about their guests—she was especially thoughtful and attentive to my partner when she wasn't feeling well. Thanh made our stay stress-free by helping arrange anything we needed: laundry, scooter rentals, bicycles, taxis, boat tours, bus tickets, and fantastic local restaurant suggestions. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully tailored to our preferences. We enjoyed our stay so much—and there's so much to see and do from Cat Ba—that we even extended our visit. If you need anything during your stay, just ask Thanh directly. She genuinely wants guests to feel at home and comfortable, and she'll happily assist you straight away rather than having you wait or struggle with anything. Highly recommended—this homestay is outstanding value and truly welcoming.
