The location is great as it's super close to the main bus terminal so if you have a heavy backpack/luggage and you're coming from El Calafate, it is really convenient. The rooms have a lot of power outlets, great for charging electronics and the showers are nice and hot. Hot water is also plentiful and I did not experience any issues with it despite being in a small trekking town. The free breakfast is a nice bonus - it is simple (being bread/toast, croissants and sometimes some sweet pastries with tea and coffee) but it's lovely to have something to eat for free in the mornings especially as the local food places are quite expensive, relatively speaking. The price speaks for itself, great value for money! The beds were comfy. Rooms were well heated and I went during Autumn when it could get as low as 0°C. I have to also shout out the amazing volunteers/staff. They were so friendly and helpful. I lost my cell phone walking near the hostel and one of the volunteers helped me look for it and went to the police station and tourist information centre with me as my Spanish was extremely limited. I luckily did end up finding it and I can't thank them enough.

It is very clean, and somehow, from the first second, I felt me very welcome. It is a perfect place to sleep, cook, and enjoy the view from the community room. The laundry is just a few meters away, the first bars and shops just about 100 meters from the hostel. I warmly recommend this friendly hostel those travellers who appreciate the silence in the rooms, and the kindlliest welcome 🤗

Wonderful stay here. Great location, nice open room for guests to meet and enjoy time after hikes together. The showers had hot water, rooms simple but comfy. The kitchen was well stocked. Grocery stores nearby and of course delicious bakeries, recommend the dark Chocolate chip cookies down the road...forget name of Cafe :p Wifi was even better than what we expected. We were able to do some work online, but I wouldn't recommend. It could be because we came at the end of the season, very quiet. We had a problem one night in our room with a drunk guest. The owner was very kind and dealt with the situation very professionally, avoiding confrontation. If I could I would leave 100 reviews just for this alone, great customer service. :D

Rancho Grande is at a great location in El Chaltén - close to the start of all the famous trekking trails. The restaurant area is open 24/7 - food is great (huge and delicious Milanesas! By staying in the hostel, I got 10% discount for all dinners. The atmosphere is very cozy, perfect for an after-hike relaxation. The kitchen area is big, common areas are well-designed.

The staff were incredibly helpful and one of the cleanest hostels I’ve stayed in. Rooms had lockers and there were plenty of showers and toilets so I never had to wait. Best location for hikes as well as you’re a 2 minute walk from the base. Charged in the official currency as well which makes it even cheaper than advertised in GBP.

Cosy hostel, good staff, great location for the v popular Laguna de Los Tres hike. One of the dorm rooms has two beds and they let us switch, so effectively a private twin (bunkbed) room for the same price.
