The hostel is very nice, atmosphere and room were great, especially if you upgrade your room with a balcony! Very relaxing place, surrounded by palms and nature. Swimming pool and rest areas, birds chirping in the morning. Clean bathrooms.

The property was clean and accomodating! The owner was very thoughtful and we could tell he really valued his guests. Perfect for budget travellers looking for a little rest spot to enjoy Cairns and surrounds. Shopping centre was just over the road and was in good walking distance to the main part of Cairns.

Mad Monkey Village is a fantastic place to stay! The vibe is super friendly and social, making it really easy to meet people. The pool is a lifesaver in the Cairns heat, and the common areas are great for chilling or hanging out with other travelers. The staff are awesome—always welcoming and happy to help with anything you need. The rooms and facilities are clean and well-maintained. And the TV Room is also great, perfect to watch movies with friends. If you're looking for a fun, relaxed, and social hostel in Cairns, I’d definitely recommend staying here!

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
