The staff were caring and helpful in an agreeable and sincere manner. The location is magnificent, situated at the forefront of Lake Windermere. I had a beautiful view of the lake from my dorm room window. The Waterhead Bus Stop is just a 3-minute walk away. Despite not being located on the main high street in Ambleside, this distance adds to its tranquility."

It is a wonderful hostel in a fantastic location. There are great facilities; a well equipped kitchen if you want to cook yourself or a restaurant that seemed reasonable but we didn't eat there. There is outdoor seating with a lovely view of the lake. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The shared bathroom was also clean and the shower was big. The staff were super welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. It is great value for money in this area!

Situated in the Cumbrian countryside, conveniently located to visit the Lake District, YHA Helvellyn has on-site free parking and a bar.

It is an absolutely stunning place in the middle of nature. Staff was really kind and helpful, breakfast was very enjoyable and the beds were comfy. I would always stay here again as it was inexpensive and memorable. And the views around, like out of a fairytale.
