Ken is such a wonderful host, the area is beautiful with some great restaurants, somewhat off the beaten track and therefore very much for the locals! The kotatsu (heated table) was a joy in cold weather, and this was a nice place to meet other travellers while travelling solo

The hostel is really clean, beds are really comfy. But most of all, the staff is amazing and it's an awesome hostel to meet people and spend time chatting with the other guest / staff. Best hostel I've been in Japan so far.
