Exceeded our expectation. Perfect value for money. Location is great! Hiroshi, our host, was amazing & even left a surprise for our little girl! The house is pristine and clean. It's a traditional japanese house so the wall are thin and the floors creak but gives you a chance to live like the locals. The toiletries in the bathroom are sooo good, the coffee & tea table in the common area is fully stocked with choices. Convenience store is just a few minutes walk way, so is this amazing ramen shop we frequented. We love NIkko so much and will definitely come back & stay at Roost!

the staff was very friendly and passionate. hostel is very close to the train station and there's a convenient store nearby which is very good for buying food at night when every restaurant is closed.
