There is a bar on the first floor where you can enjoy good time and meet new people inside. The host definitely got good humour. For solo travellers, you can get to have little chitchat with him😁 The facilities inside the hostel is wonderful! Got everything I need and toothbrushes for free! The bed is cozy😍 I’ll come back here again🥰

Really nice place to stay just before starting the Kumanokodo, the staff and owner are really friendly and opened. The place is comfortable, close to the station and offers a lot of facilities for backpackers or hikers.

This hostel is just 5 minutes away from the koi-Tanabe station. The house is typical Japanese traditional house which reminds me of my grandma’s house. It was very comfortable and relaxing to stay there. The owner was very helpful and friendly. I loved the interior design of this house.

The host was excellent, he called a few accom places ahead of our kimono kodo trail to ensure they had availability, he was extremely helpful. The bunks were clean and spacious for hostel bunks. Cute little balcony at the top for a drink too.

The cheapest accomodation around the main shrine Hongu Taisha and on the Kumamo Kodo trail. The owner of the hostel gives us recommendations on where to eat and also showed us useful spots for camping on the trail. I also got a breakfast package (yoghurt, toast, banana). The hostel has a nice large common area with a big kitchen, so you can make yourself tea or coffee, there are also some snacks available 🤩

Great location across from train/bus station. Quiet, I think because it was a holiday, few people in the hostel, and downstairs bar was closed. Comfortable bed. Clean. Juan checked us in, very friendly, but no staff around after 4pm.

very cool hostel, welcoming staff just across the road from the station. We had 1 bunk room enclosed within dormitory with accessible toilet upstairs but also more downstairs, laundry facilities and great bar with local craft beer. I really liked Tanabe, small town heaps of dining options, worth a stroll down to the beach
