The room was spacious and neat I could sleep well thanks to the bed being comfortable Bathrooms are to share but they were always clean There’s not many rooms so it’s very calm It is ideally located, just a few minutes from the city center and 15 minutes from the airport by car Mariangela, the receptionist, made my stay way better She was so kind and nice to talk to She also gave me the best suggestions about restaurants and places to visit The owner was very kind too Obrigada! I’ll gladly be back :)

This is a great hostel! If you are looking for a hostel in Madeira STAY HERE. super friendly, clean, cute. Fabulous pizza night. Quiet at night. Fabulous hostel. About 20 min from airport. Next to a good bar/restaurant in a small village with trail running options. Small supermarket in village and bakery with great coffee. Surfing nearby and marine pool. We did a GREAT walk - the best of our trip from the hostel to machico (15km) - steep uphill to start then easy walking along coast and levadas. Definitely do this! Bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable! We had room 1 - ensuite with private terrace and good views. Shared area nice. Our host Ines was wonderful and made sure everyone was invited to the bar each night.

Santa Maria Hostel is located in the heart of Funchal, and its old charming neighborhood that is full of bars, restaurants and shops. The rooms are really comfortable, nice and have nice touches, as well as the whole hostel. The staff was amazing, they helped us a lot, recommended great car-rentals and were very nice and warm people.

Highly recommend staying here. We stayed in a private room and it was beautiful, clean and spacious and also, very quiet at night so we slept peacefully! Great, central location on a quiet street. Also the breakfast was incredible. The best we had in Madeira and one of the best we've had anywhere!! We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Madeira! The staff were super friendly and helpful too. Thanks Jaca Hostel team for taking such good care of us!
