The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. It offers a park with a pool, free WiFi and a limited number of free parking spaces. The room location and facilities were exceptional. I have to add that I booked a single room and therefore was moved to the neighboring Continental Park Hotel. So just something to take into account.

The restaurant serves Swiss and Mediterranean cuisine and packed lunches can be provided. i had to check in late due to a late night train, but the staffs were super helpful in ensuring that i manage to check in by myself. got a shared dorm all by myself and i thought the staffs were very considerate because i was pretty worried that i would wake the roommate during late night if i had one.

Thank you very much, I had a wonderful stay at the hostel! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and fellow travelers from all over the world. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the common areas were perfect for relaxing or meeting new people. The location was convenient, close to public transport and local attractions. Overall, it was a cozy, affordable, and memorable experience — I’d definitely stay here again!
