The owner is very friendly, thoughtful, and caring. In my case he even went out of his way (since I had two large suitecases, a backpack, and a couple shopping bags from in between moves locally) to store my stuff and bump me up to an open double bed with two lockers. The two lockers also helped me store my quiet juicer so I could juice quietly in the kithen while others were asleep in the next room. The volunteers and guests all seemed happy with the accomodations, and everyone got along well, partly due to the environment created by our host. Thank you so much, Sander.

A beautiful, affordable, tropical mountain retreat in the rainforest with more trails than we could hike in the extent of our stay. The owners were amazingly accommodating and great at communication. The communal cooking facilities were excellent.

The private rooms are super comfortable and have everything you need. It’s just steps from the beach and packed with all kinds of fun group activities. I was a solo traveler, and Roie—the awesome community manager—made sure I had the best time. He brought me into the group and made sure I didn’t miss a single thing: dinners, parties, painting sessions, day tours. Can’t recommend it enough!

All units will provide guests with a fridge. Super cosy and great atmosphere! You feel like you are staying at a friends house and I love that! Chelsea and Lenin are awesome and so heartwarming! I will definitely be back some day! I can also really recommend Lenin as a surf instructor! He reads his students perfectly and you feel super safe with him! He takes you different places in Santa Teresa and get to experience different kinds of waves and have fun!

Perfect stay! Great location in the middle of nature. Nothing fancy, just connection to Costa Rica beautiful nature ! Comfy beds, everything you need, waking up with birds in the middle of the garden. Heyner’s family is so nice, his wife is cooking a great breakfast and dinner. They booked the mangrove trip which was amazing and we had horseback riding with Heyner. It was a great experience . We will definitely come back!!

Dorms, private rooms with shared bathroom and family rooms at the Hostel have a balcony with ocean views. It is a super cool place to relax. They had lots of tour info and spoke English, so communicating was easy. Always kept very clean. Loved that there was a restaurant/bar. Breakfast was great, loved the nachos. Probably our favorite place so far! And we will definitely recommend!

Cascada Verde - Hostel at the Waterfall has spacious private rooms and shared dormitories with charming rustic-style décor. Each one offers free Wi-Fi and most of them have a garden view. It was absolutely gorgeous. The room was clean and comfortable, and it was very peaceful and quiet. The wifi connection was really strong so I could get work done, and everyone I met there was super nice. Made a couple of friends there as well. Breakfast was yummy and laundry services were pretty cheap
