The hostel is located in a small hill, offering a great view to Las Terrenas and the sea, and be able to be surrounded by nature. Still it is very close from the town centre or beach if you don’t mind walking.

Literally couldn’t be better, hostel room was super cozy with complete privacy inside your bunk, and the public spaces were beautiful and really well kept. The photos don’t even do it justice, since they were taken all the surrounding plants and garden has grown into a lush jungle around the main building. One of the owners, Austin, was an absolute pleasure to speak with as are all of the rest of the staff and guests, truly a hub for brilliant people in one of the most untouched an beautiful places I have ever stayed. I can’t wait to come back to El Valle !!

Het klinkt haast cliché maar je voelt je echt thuis. De hosts wonen in het hostel en ik denk dat dat een groot verschil maakt daarin. Leuke activiteiten worden georganiseerd zoals het family diner en ik heb zelfs nog extra danslesjes kunnen nemen in het hostel. Is iemand uit het hostel jarig, dan wordt daar ook aandacht aan geschonken. Het is er ontzettend fijn, ik zou graag terug in de tijd willen en er weer een aantal dagen of zelfs weken verblijven.

Idyllic Escape at Fata Morgana – Highly Recommend! I recently had the pleasure of staying at Fata Morgana in Las Terrenas, and it was a truly relaxing and memorable experience. The property is set in a serene, idyllic location with lush surroundings that immediately put you at ease. A highlight for me was the presence of two friendly donkeys that roam the grounds—they added such a charming and peaceful vibe to the stay! I traveled without children but brought along my small dog, who was warmly welcomed. The proprietor was incredibly hospitable and multilingual, which made communication effortless. She’s also a certified tour guide for the Dominican Republic, and her local knowledge was invaluable. She even assisted us with arranging a car rental, which made getting around much easier. The accommodations are individual bungalows—clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out with private bathrooms. I also really appreciated the communal kitchen and dining area, which included a lovely porch where guests could relax, cook, and connect. Fata Morgana has a calm, authentic charm that’s perfect for those looking to unwind and experience the true spirit of Las Terrenas. I would absolutely stay here again.
