Located around 1 km from Edinburgh Castle, the hostel with free WiFi is also 700 metres away from Edinburgh Waverley station. The best thing about this hostel is the location: right down the street from Bobby's statue and Greyfriars cemetery! You can walk everywhere from there. What we liked: -The room was spacious despite the many bunk beds in there. -Individual power socket for each bed. -Big lockers to store luggage and valuables inside the room. -Quiet (the other guests were also very decent and respectful, and nobody snored -thank God-). -The bathrooms are in the same hallway as the room. -Nice key card system. -Great locker system right in front of the reception to store our luggage while we waited for check-in time. -Very friendly staff, especially the Italian guy who spoke Spanish with us. -Toilets and showers were cleaned very regularly, which was excellent because the hostel was pretty full.

First of all: the competent and amazingly kind staff made my day! All questions were answered, all things I forgot to bring were provided (towel, hairdryer,...). Wonderful all-you-can-eat breakfast at a very low price. I loved that even my favorite brand of oat milk was provided! Very clean and cozy. What I also liked was the concept "adults only". At the first night, I joined the free Pub Crawl which brought me to a great pub with live music where I stayed ;-p. The whole place is very well organized and offers many comforts (terrace, free pool table, free luggage storage...). This makes traveling so easy and convenient. Perfect location 5min walking from the train station, 7min walking from the castle. I recommend to book well in advance because they are often fully booked and you have much bigger chances in getting a smaller room with less people. I also loved that I was able to book the lower bunk bed as I am too old to climb :-). We had our own sink in the 4 bed room so sometimes I was able to avoid leaving the room for getting ready. USB power outlets for each bed are also a great asset - no need to put the bulky adapter!

Great location, the hostel felt safe and clean, was nice to only have ladies around and jeez that was like the only hostel I found with 2-level bunk beds (as opposed to 3-levels in most places!) I forgot my phone charger and the staff helped me, thanks a lot. Nice shower too.
The host was amazing and offered to meet in person if it was something I needed. The lock box worked perfectly and getting into the flat was easy. We felt safe and secure in and around the flat. It was a great location for the local sights but also far enough away that we didn't need to listen to street noise or neighbors. The host also has a lot of spices, sugar, tea, coffee, cups, pots, pans, etc. so that you could buy groceries and live cheaper during your visit.
I really liked the vibe. It's a small hostel with a big kitchen which facilitates meeting new people. As a solo female traveler I felt very safe and confortable so a big up to the team!
Probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in! Wonderful people, great location, room was unbelievably comfortable, definitely going to stay in this hostel my next trip to Edinburgh!
I stay here often usually when I get a late flight and can’t get home the same night. Good value for money, cheap stay. I think my last stay was only unpleasant because of inconsiderate people in my room but that’s the nature of hostels.
Great location! However, the hostel was hacked and didn’t seem to care to let us know! We paid twice for the room and neither Edinburgh Backpackers or Booking.com took responsibility for it.
it was an amazing stay, very clean and welcoming place and the staff is great ! It is slightly more pricy than the other youth hostel options I've seen, but I could find a woman's only small dormitory which was perfect for me :) Everything is well maintained and breakfast is good with gluten free options. Highly recommend !
Huge common area, with activities planned by the hostel everyday. Its a great place for all kinds of backpackers and travelers. Rooms are comfy, breakfast is cheap and the location cannot be any better.
Value for money. Cheap and best accommodation option and it will be like hostel type environment as you will be sharing room with other bunk beds. Common kitchen is there to use fridges or microwave...common room to sit and work using the WiFi provided..
