The property was in the centre of town. It was secure behind a code locked door. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property was very clean. There were free hot drinks available. It was very quiet. There were lots of things to do: games, books, television in the pod. Fantastic value for money.

A standalone farm very close to Hvitserkur. The owner was very nice and talkative, even though we arrived 10-15 minutes late. Comfortable rooms, cosy common area. Also a chance to see the Icelandic horses from a close distance nearby. A really quiet, remote and pleasant place close to nature.

When you step in it is like back 50years, with decor, actual beds, bed setups, kitchen, you name it, even the keys. Although not a retro fan, this is not retro. I stayed here as I needed a place to sleep before catching the ferry to Grimsey Island. I got a room upgrade I think, lol. Was contacted hours before expected arrival, just to clear arrival procedures. I would recommend to other travellers, it’s clean, good water pressure, Ease of access, no pets, and no issues.

The host is very sweet and welcoming. The house is in a great location, just a five-minute walk to the whale watching center. The decor has a charming, vintage feel, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. We loved the café on the corner, where the fresh fish soup and bread were some of the best we've ever had. Next door is a century-old cinema with a vintage projector. Everything was wonderful. Highly recommend!

One of the best hostels in Iceland during my trip. The hostel is not located properly "downtown" but only a short distance from the city centre and there is a bus stop (for busses from and to the city centre) in the main street right in front of the hostel (entrance to the hostel from the side street). Very nice and clean common space (lounge and kitchen). Nice and clean shared bathrooms. City busses are free of charge in the Akureryi city area.

Staff were great with the communication prior to our arrival. Kitchen well stocked and rooms clean. Good stopping location between our travel from Husavik to Reykjavík. Safe and warm hostel.
