The hostel is just great. The staff is so welcoming and nice, we had nice chats. Also the other guests were nice. Everything is very clean and comfortable, it's directly at the river and the morning market. Only a 10 min walk from the station. It's very new.

The most beautiful and warm guesthouse I have ever stayed in. The common area was particularly great, the windows facing out to the mountains were amazing. No faults at all!!!
Shirakawa-go is a small town with nothing much open at night so prepare for that by stocking up at the convenience store. It’s about a 10 min walk away from the guesthouse. There is a very small family-run convenience store that is closer but is cash only (try to go there if you can! The staff are lovely).
The staff at the guesthouse were unreal! So helpful from as soon as we arrived. Make sure to book their bus terminal shuttle before you get there, don’t make our mistake and try to do the walk cause it isn’t fun! They were funny, kind and always willing to help with anything at all.
This was my favourite place I stayed in through all of Japan and I couldn’t recommend it more.
Thank you so much for having us! We’re forever grateful.

A perfect opportunity to get real local experience. This place is not made for tourists and if you prefer 5star hotels this place is not for you, but if you want to learn more about Japanese onsen culture it is perfect. You can use multiple baths and sauna as well as cold pool for 900 yen in the evening and in the morning before check out and enjoy nice food right after taking a good bath. Your company is gonna be some Japanese uncles and aunties, but they are great. It’s a simple place with a great soul!

We were accomodated in different place than was advertised, so I cannot review anything. Price was high, but it could be because of the autumn festival that was happening that day.

What a lovely accommodation run by wonderfully kind people. It’s a traditional guest house, giving such a lovely atmosphere, kitchen is plentiful, tons of advice on local attractions, immaculately clean. Can’t fault it.

Small clean and minimalist.
Nice hotel staff.
So few accommodations in the area as majority are hostels and bunk beds that make this hotel look very luxurious.

Friendly chatty staff, clean, comfortable and ideally located. In 3 weeks this was the second best hostel in japan I stayed at, which is quite the endorsement!
