We stayed almost a week and it felt like a homestay because the host Rafael and his family are taking very good care of you. We got a pick up from the airport and on a rainy day we could join them for a trip to the local market in the city. After other guests left they asked us to move in their room because the room was nicer and had more space, moreover they cleaned inbetween our stay. The meals are prepared by the grannys of the family and are very good, same for the Maracuja Piscos Rafael prepared for us in the evening. For out last dinner Rafaels Mom even prepared a chicken from her garden for us - delicious! Besides relaxing we did some tours, which we recommend: - Clay licking perrots and other exotic birds at surise - Sunset Boat Tour - Jungle Hike - Lago Sandoval The first 3 tours were operated by Rafael himself, he has a very good knowledge about the environment and wildlife there, the other tour was organized by him, but with a bigger group and another guide. Moreover, after dinner you can join for a nightwalk to see sloth and other animals on or near the property. After all a great experience.

The family’s pet macaw stole our hearts and made every day brighter. The hostel is basic and rustic, but that’s to be expected—and honestly, it’s part of the charm. We also stayed at an expensive eco-lodge deep in the jungle, but it’s this humble place that left the deepest impression. So we stayed twice!
