Absolutely loved OIA—I even extended my stay just to slow down, relax, and soak it all in. The volunteers were super friendly and kept arranging fun hostel outings and activities that made it effortless to meet other travelers and feel at home right away. The hammocks look straight out over the water, and being steps from the beach meant an easy, peaceful swim any time of day. Kayaks are available to paddle to nearby islands, which was a memorable little adventure between chill sessions. The music—played by the local volunteers and on most of the time—set a calm, laid‑back vibe that made the whole place feel incredibly soothing. The food was tasty and fairly priced, so eating in never felt expensive and the portions hit the spot. Overall, OIA is that rare mix of community, comfort, and breathtaking views that makes leaving hard—highly recommend.

My stay at Frida Ka was very nice. The hostel is located right along the main pathway to the beach, though I didn’t spend much time there. More importantly, it’s in the heart of the main strip, making it super easy to walk to all the nearby restaurants and shops. Although it’s a hostel, it’s not a social one, which made for a quiet and relaxing stay. I stayed in a mixed dorm and had no issues with the other occupants. The breakfast was great—not included, but reasonably priced for the area. The staff was friendly and always remembered me whenever I passed by, which added a nice personal touch. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay here again!

The staff was always cleaning, like always. They were also helpful and always around and super nice. The social areas were clean and well kept as well, including the bathrooms. Wasn’t too loud and just far enough away from downtown that It didn’t feel too crowded with people. It may be more of a party scene at other times of the year but wasn’t for my stay but we still drank and hung out with everyone. I’m in my 30s and had a lot of people here closer to my age and younger so it was a good mix.
