📍 Where is Dornau Dornau is a small settlement (or district/hamlet) in the municipality of Finkenberg / Mayrhofen area, in the district of Schwaz, in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The altitude of Dornau is roughly 1,204 meters above sea level. From Dornau, you are very close (about 0.6 km) to the ski lifts / slopes of the main ski resort. So — it’s in the heart of the valley region known as Zillertal, surrounded by Alpine mountains. 🌄 What to do / see near Dornau If you stay in Dornau (or nearby Finkenberg/Mayrhofen), here are some of the main attractions and things you can enjoy: Ski & winter sports — Very close is the ski area Mayrhofen – Penken/Ahorn/Rastkogel/Eggalm (Mountopolis) — a major ski resort. Great for skiing and snowboarding in winter. Just a 5-minute walk from our property, you’ll find the Finkenberger Almbahn — the only cable car in the Zillertal Valley that is free for children up to 10 years old.
