We are Franziska and Thomas and opened Haus Salzkristall in June 2019 after extensive renovations. With us you can enjoy the magnificent mountains and lakes of the Dachstein Salzkammergut and experience an unforgettable holiday. Our Bed & Breakfast offers an ideal starting point to explore the Salzkammergut and to choose from various sights and leisure activities.

Located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage region of Hallstatt Dachstein Salzkammergut, Haus Salzkristall is a privately run bed & breakfast with four cosy double rooms, two of them with balcony and lake view. The world-famous Hallstatt is located on the opposite side of Lake Hallstatt and is only 5 km away. The elevated location of our house offers a beautiful view of Lake Hallstatt and the Dachstein mountain panorama, especially in our rooms with balcony. The lake is just a few minutes walk from our house. Our guests appreciate the tranquility of Obertraun and the proximity to nature very much. All our rooms have a ensuite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. A free parking space is provided for each room. Breakfast is included in the room rate. In addition to various coffee and tea specialties, we offer fresh rolls, homemade muffins and jams, sausage, cheese, yogurt, cereals and much more. During the ski season, you also have the option of storing your ski and/or snowboard equipment with us. We speak German and English.

The area around Obertraun and Hallstatt offers many opportunities to explore, whether sightseeing, hiking, cycling, swimming or just relaxing - there is certainly something for every guest for an unforgettable stay. We will be happy to help you plan your activities and give you tips for excursions and restaurants. Guests who stay with us for 3 nights or more receive the Salzkammergut Card free of charge, with which they receive up to 25% discount on various sights and attractions.
