In the cold season, winter sports enthusiasts are well catered for with the Hochkössen and Zahmer Kaiser ski resorts. For those who prefer Nordic skiing, the Kaiserwinkl offers several cross-country skiing centers and a wide variety of trails. An annual speciality is the ballooning week "Alpin Ballooning" in January: Countless colorful hot air balloons then rise into the Kaiserwinkl sky for races.
