Haus Lilo is a 80-year old stone house set at the edge of the Bohemian forest. On a plateau of around 1,000 meters and surrounded by rolling hills, forest and gentle farmland, it lies in the quiet hamlet of Schöneben. The house stands in a private garden, with ample parking in the driveway. Nearest neighbors are around 250 meters away, one of which is a dairy farmer where you can get fresh milk. You will find a rustic decor, with a large dining table and a welcoming living room, centered around the traditional "Kachelofen", a tile-plated heating stove. We are currently offering two double bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. The house is heated through the Kachelofen and the kitchen stove, which heats the warm water in the winter. Wood is stored in the adjoining "Stadl" (barn). In the summer, warm water is provided through the solar warm water panels on the south roof. The water is of highest quality, coming from our own well and filtered through Grander technology. There is a firepit in the garden to enjoy nights around the fire and stargazing. Currently no internet available but receive good to very good cell phone reception.

You can take walks in the forest just minutes away from the house, as well as cross country skiing in the winter. The town of Liebenau is around 10 mins drive by car, where you can find basic amenities and shopping, or you can go to Liebenstein. The historic town of Freistadt is around 30 mins drive, and the Czech border is only around 3 km away. In the summer, don't miss the stunning natural swimming lake Stierhueblteich near Karlstift, only 15 mins away. In the winter, there is a small ski lift in Liebenau, perfect for young kids. There are several restaurants within a 30 km radius, including Radosol in Langschlag, which I highly recommend.
