Huw lives in Northern Ireland in the UK and has owned Sonnberg 17 since August 2017. It is a place that he likes to come with his family to enjoy the wonderful summers in the mountains and to ski in the winter. Now semi-retired, Huw has a lot more time to devote to the property and wants to make it accessible to other families at a reasonable price. Adi is the house manager who will look after the facility before and after your stay.

Skiing starts at Obertauern on 18 November 2021 - can't wait! We are delighted that Carinthia has reopened and that tourists are returning after the pandemic. Sonnberg 17 is isolated - well away from other houses and you can remain self-contained at the property. There are no shared facilities like in hotels or camp sites. The house is a family home - a little quirky but full of character. It gives you a lot of room for a modest price and has the full range of equipment to make your stay comfortable. We pride ourselves upon being much less expensive than neighbouring holiday properties; this reflects our philosophy that we would like the house used and to share the facility with a range of people who love the outdoors and want a good sized place for a family holiday. There is free WiFi at the property and it is fully equipped for a family or group of friends.

For Winter guests, the house is close to several medium sized ski resorts - Katschberg, Innerkrems, Goldeck and Bad Kleinkirchheim are the most popular ones close to us, but there are 31 resorts that you can use in Carinthia on your ski pass. This gives you a huge number of options. The house is on the main road but this means that you can drive out easily once the snow ploughs have been through. There is a bus stop for the ski bus to Innerkrems a short distance from the house which makes getting to the slopes really easy. If you are into ice climbing then there are few better places in Austria than the Maltatal Valley! Great climbing in Summer too! In the Summer there is so much to do in Carinthia and we would recommend getting a Karnten card which allows you free access to cable cars, museums, zoos, scenic drives, swimming pools etc for free. In addition there is so much hiking on well marked routes, mountain biking and a wide range of water based activities on the myriad of beautiful lakes in this area. See Visit Carinthia. at.
