Nestled within the scenic Blue Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage site , Mt Wilson is just a two-hour drive from Sydney. Visitors can take advantage of the lush bush land,cascading rainforest, trails,gorges and period-era buildings and gardens, many of which are open to the public. Walks and picnic grounds are also very special in Mount Wilson. A beautiful location for a picnic is at Cathedral Reserve opposite 'The Cathedral of Ferns' - enjoy a short 10 minute walk through the amazing ferms - not to be missed. Back towards Bells Line of Road you will discover Bowens Creek Picnic Ground. Other places of interest include Wynne’s Rock Lookout with magnificent 180 degree views, Du Faurs Rock where you can look or walk over to Chinamans Cap, and Pheasants Cave. Another pleasant and not too strenuous walk in Mount Wilson is the Waterfall Circuit Track which can be accessed via Waterfall Road.
