Fifty minutes after leaving Melbourne, you’re on the deck with a glass of local pinot, watching the sun drop behind the vines and hills. This is An Unforgettable View – a brand-new two-bedroom retreat on our small rescue farm in Dixons Creek, looking straight out over vineyards, rolling green hills and the dam below. In the morning you’ll wake to soft light over the valley, kangaroos in the distance and the odd rooster in the background, not traffic.
You’re in Dixons Creek, in the heart of the Yarra Valley: Several wineries within walking distance or a very short drive Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery – ~10 minutes by car Healesville Sanctuary – ~15 minutes by car Yarra Glen village with cafes, pub and shops – a few minutes away Hot-air ballooning, bushwalks and scenic drives all close by
