Originally from England, I trained as a tradesman working with the Cooper, Wheelwright, patternmaker, Carpenter, Joiner, Woodturner and French Polisher. On completion of my apprenticeship, my adventurous nature took control and having experienced many European countries, decided to look further afield and eventually emigrated to Australia. Cloud 9 is my home and a luxury private retreat catering to small groups, loving couples, ladies only getaway weekends and informal corporate gatherings. It's been a long and exciting journey since leaving British soil having visited literally dozens of countries observing diverse cultures, exotic fruits, local architecture, trade practices, fishing methods, survival technique and unfailing hospitality, I now consider myself capable of interesting discussion with guests from all points of the compass. I also welcome any opportunity to play tour guide in any part of Queensland, particularly the region around Daintree with its Barrier Reef, Rainforests, prolific birdlife, crocodiles, excellent fishing and unique botanical species. Life is never boring on Cloud 9.

We have only birds and lizards on our doorstep, no neighbors. Nearby are great fishing holes, the Great Barrier Reef for snorkeling or diving, Mossman Gorge for swimming and nature spotting, the Daintree National Park which is the oldest rainforest in the world, many tours, excellent cafes, restaurants and health spas.
