Copacabana Shores sits in a prime location one block back from the beach and between two headlands. In earlier settlement days, Copacabana was known as "Tudibaring," (an Aboriginal word that means "where the waves pound like a beating heart.")

Copacabana is a quiet, safe and family friendly village. For families, there is a children's park next to Copacabana Shores, along with a skate park. Additionally, you are just a two minute walk from the beach and rock pool! For those on a romantic getaway, pick up a bottle of wine and some specialty cheese and crackers from the local deli, then head over to the beach to enjoy a breezy evening and stunning sunset. For nature lovers you may want to head to Bouddi National Park, or walk up Del Monte Ave. (Beach front road) to Captain Cook's Lookout where you'll find breathtaking views. During whale migration season, you may catch a playful pod in the waters below. From the Lookout you can follow the 5Lands walking path through the bush to Avoca Beach. You may choose to stop and hire a board or a boat on Avoca Lake. For those interested in a nice beach walk, head the other direction on Copa beach to MacMasters beach. Stop for a coffee, and enjoy the midweek morning Jazz bands or watch the surfers. For more activities and restaurants, Avoca Beach is only a 5 minute drive up the hill and Terrigal's Esplanade is only another 10 minutes!
