My love of travel has inspired me to create amazing places for travellers to enjoy and I have been hosting short term rental guests since 2013. Escape to the beautiful Blue Mountains and immerse yourself in this amazing Historic Retreat. Built in the 1920's.... so 100 years worth of history & trinkets including an original old door from an old 'rattler train' & beautiful lead light windows in the games room! Stones throw to the Three Sisters, Wentworth Falls & the charming village style suburbs. A 5-10min walk to everything that you might need... Springwood Train Station, grocery shop, bread shop, newsagent, cafe's, restaurants etc.. Enjoy hiking? Then this is a great location for you. The entrance to the Birdwood Gully Walking track is a 2 min walk down the road, with many other bushwalks in the local area. The balcony overlooks the garden and the valley below that. We welcome pets but the back garden is not enclosed but the verandah leads to the laundry (outside access) which would suit outside but but do check suitability for pets before booking. We have attempted to retain the character of the home. Just like back in the day you will find mats on polished timber floors. There are gas heaters for use in Winter and Fans for use in summer. There is no air-conditioning, but plenty of fans and heaters. We are slowly but surly returning it to it's past glory days! There are some cosmetic repairs needed and we hope to find suitable tradies soon to get these attended to so please be understanding that the house is a work in progress. It's a quiet area & a quiet street. The neighbours are very welcoming and friendly. Over the fence, you have a Policeman and his wife living there. He will sometimes bring the patrol car home, so no need to worry if you see a police car parked in the street! Springwood is considered to be the 'hub' of the Blue Mountains as you have everything that you need within a short10 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the house.... There's the local IGA, Kebab Shop, great Chinese Restaurant, a Two Dollar shop, Hippy Markets!, the train station as well as banks, a medical centre and of course the pub! At the start of street you will find the entrance to the Birdwood Gully Park walking trail. It's a beautiful bush walk taking about 90 minutes to complete and right at your doorstep! Lots or other great hiking tracks close by and Katoomba and the 3 sisters are only a 30 minute drive from the property. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Heritage Listed Blue Mountains.
