Magenta Cottage is located in the heart of Tumbarumba surrounded by beautiful parkland, fields with cows and short walk to the main street for shopping, eating and galleries. The property has a country style garden shared with main rammed earth residence and you are welcome to pick the flowers and enjoy the peace. We have lovely views at the rear of the property with cows and a beautiful stone cottage on the hill. At the front is a kid friendly park with excellent pump track, children's bike park, skate park and playground, swimming pool (summer time), cricket nets, netball court and football oval. The shops are just a short stroll away. Enjoy riding the rail trail or explore the sculpture trail, which is easily started from the cottage. We are able to comfortably accommodate up to 8 people in 3 bedrooms with 2 queen beds and up to 4 single beds. On the ground floor is a queen bedroom, spacious lounge/kitchen/dining and bathroom/laundry. LCD TV and DVD, radio/CD. Full kitchen facilities include gas oven/stove, microwave and all cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are provided for extended stays. Laundry is supplied with washing machine, dryer and detergents. On the 2nd floor there is an additional bathroom 2 bedrooms, 1 with queen bed and 1 with 2 singles, lounge and library area (this is where we set up extra beds when needed over 6 people.) 2 night minimum.

The main house that we live in is a 2 storey rammed earth house that we built in 2009. Behind the cottage is a lovely field with cows and stone cottage great for photography. At the front of the cottage is access to the park, skate park, playground, football and netball field and a short walk to the shops, gallery and restaurants. Swimming pool is just across the road (open during summer months). Excellent bike and walking trails.

There is nothing like being surrounded by nature to escape the busy-ness of life. With a variety of experiences to suit all age and fitness levels we’re sure you’ll find something to take your fancy. Tumbarumba can now boast a fantastic rail trail that goes from the town to Rosewood a 42km round trip. Now with e-bike hire available in town at Tumba Bikes and Blooms and gormet picnic boxes available to take along with you. For the more adventurous mountain biker Tumbarumba now boasts 4 mountain bike tracks, childrens bike park and a pump track. Explore the new sculpture trail that goes from Adelong to Tooma. Bush Walking, Paddy’s River Falls, Buddong Falls, Sugarpine walk and Pilot Hill arboretum, Yarrangobilly Caves and thermal pool. Have a family picnic at the Tumbarumba creekscape, enjoying the creek, playground and skate park. Visit the Cinema café, local art gallery and shops. Fossicking for gemstones, Geocaches and photography. Many 4WD or mountain bike tracks in the area. Pioneer Women’s Hut, Boggy Creek Show, Cabramurra (Australia’s highest township), cellar doors, art and woodwork galleries.
