This charming, two-bedroom stay is the owner's childhood home and provides many great memories of days spent meandering on and around the river. The home now perfectly combines original features with modern conveniences, offering guests an authentic homely space to unwind and socialise while being only a short drive to the heart of Launceston. Open-plan living welcomes guests to settle in on the oversized plush cane lounge and watch TV, or prepare meals for loved ones in the fully equipped kitchen. You’ll find all the essentials you need, including a fridge, freezer, oven, stove, microwave, as well as other basics such as pots, pans and utensils. Enjoy laidback meals on the numerous outdoor tables or eat together in the light-filled dining area, looking out to the garden and river views. Should you choose to dine alfresco, or want to cook up a feast on the BBQ, sliding glass doors seamlessly connect the dining area with a private outdoor space. Two thoughtfully furnished bedrooms accommodate four guests, with the main bedroom offering a king-size bed and the second bedroom having a queen-size bed. The master bedroom includes an updated ensuite where you can take in the view whilst having a shower or let down the blinds for a bit of modesty. The main bathroom features a shower and vanity and also houses a washing machine. Other conveniences include Wi-Fi and air-conditioning throughout and off-street parking. The many hundreds of guests have provided wonderful feedback.

Olive’s Cottage is Robin's parents former home. We took ownership of the property in 2003 when they passed away. We knew it was a perfect place for a bed-and-breakfast style property as self-contained accommodation. We renovated the property with our two nephew builders, and after several months we were ready to open. Thus, Olive's has now been in continuous operation since the beginning of 2004, welcoming guests from all over the world - for over 20 years. It provides self-catering accommodation but with a B&B feel. The fully renovated dwelling is on a delightful one acre (0.4 hectare) property at Windermere, on the banks of the Tamar River. The defining features of Olive’s Cottage are the airy and welcoming feel, the serenity of the setting and the mesmerising, ever-changing views. You and your party have sole occupancy of the property with its extensive lawns and gardens. Olive’s Cottage should particularly suit the food and wine lover. The owners have designed the cottage to cater for their own interests in these areas. As well as a modern, well-equipped kitchen, there are fruit trees and a herb garden, two wonderful decks for entertaining, and a magnificent barbecue pit. Launceston is possibly the best preserved provincial town in Australia, with several blocks of gorgeous buildings and suburbs with beautiful period architecture. The Tamar Valley is one of the most beautiful parts of Australia but not well known - you can spend a day or several doing scenic drives, visiting wineries or heading out to Bass Strait. Surrounding Launceston are many historic hamlets and small towns and beyond are mountains and forests to explore. And it is a gourmet centre with a wide range of produce, many wineries and excellent restaurants.
