Somebody said to me the other day that Simpsons Bay Road is still like Bruny was 30 years ago. I haven't lived here for that long but I certainly do appreciate the quiet, peacefulness and exceptional beauty side of the area. Please drive all the way to the end of Simpsons Bay Road, beyond the boat ramp and the "No turning beyond this point" sign and pull into the driveway of number 449. From Hobart, it’s a 30 minute drive to Kettering and a 20 minute ferry ride to get to the island. It is a is a 35 minute drive from the Roberts Point ferry to Wylah. Simpsons Bay Road is a winding gravel road. Please drive carefully, especially between dusk and dawn where the roads on Bruny are full of wildlife. Simpsons Bay is ideally located to explore the island: a short drive from the Neck (for views, penguins and auroras)as well as many of Bruny's attractions, shops and restaurants.
