The Boat Shed is a romantic secluded cottage accommodation for couples set on a panoramic waterfront peninsula overlooking Ralph’s Bay and beyond to Hobart and Mount Wellington. Completely self contained with a full kitchen, dining area, TV, adjoining bedroom and bathroom. Enjoy spectacular views from your comfortable queen size bed, whilst relaxing in the lounge or having a meal on the deck. Facilities include free private parking on site, free wifi, beach towels, heated towel rail, bedroom fan and a washing machine. Walk out and straight down to the waters edge for a paddle, swim or explore the Tangara trail. Watch the bird life in the reserve straight from the cottage, look for dolphins using complimentary binoculars, or walk along the beach and adjoining Mortimer Bay reserve. Explore the many beaches along the South Arm peninsular or simply sit back and relax and read from our extensive book collection, enjoy the spectacular water views and sunsets, and maybe see an aurora. A night stroll may find brown and barred bandicoots, Bettongs, and possums. The Boat Shed is 30 minutes from Hobart and 20 minutes from the airport. Late checkout is available upon request. The cottage caters for a single or couple but cannot cater to children. There is only the one queen size bed. To protect our beautiful environment this is a non smoking property.

The South Arm peninsula has spectacular views as you drive along the ridge line and drop down to the neck bordered by the roaring waves of Hope beach and the shallows of Ralph’s Bay onto the calm of Opossum Bay including its quaint seaside cottages. Visit the top of Clifton Beach in late Summer to catch the evening spectacle of the shearwaters returning to their nests to feed the chicks, or maybe catch a sighting of whales and dolphins during the day. Nearby Lauderdale offers a local restaurant on the canal, takeaways and supermarkets containing local gourmet produce. Or pop into Hobart for a vast array of restaurants, Salamanca market of a Saturday, and the waterfront.
