It’s a gorgeous place with a beautiful view through the trees to the water. We enjoyed walking down to the little pier at sunset. The kitchen seems to be well equipped. The beds were comfortable.

The view and forest surrounds are beautiful. The balcony facing Wilson Inlet is fantastic and we spent a lot of time there. The house is very comfortable and clean.

Breathtaking ocean views and nature all around. I wouldn’t call the home ultra modern but it felt very homely and comfortable…very relaxing. Like a home away from home!

Beautiful views of Wilson Inlet. Very peaceful, like a retreat. Had a number of birds coming to have a feed. The accommodation was very clean, spacious and had a great feel about it.

The Coombe is a two bedroom modern rammed earth and glass luxury holiday home, inspired by the Usonian hexagonal designs of Frank Lloyd Wright, in particular the Berger House. With all rooms enjoying sweeping unsurpassed views over Wilson Inlet and the Nullaki Peninsula through floor to ceiling glazing, a friendly relaxed atmosphere is generated by open plan living and wrap around verandas. The living area and bedrooms are carpeted in a rich golden wool carpet, Furnishings are modern and stylish including a new leather Lazyboy lounge suite, and new fabric floor to ceiling curtains. There are laundry facilities including a washing and drying machine, and trough. The kitchen is fully realised and equipped, including a Nespresso machine and microwave, The two modern bathrooms are tiled, with new toilets, vanities and showers. We require a TWO night minimum stay, please take this into account when looking at the booking calendar.
We just love that visitors feel so welcome and at home when they arrive at this lovely house. Everyone has a meet and greet from our manager, and home made preserves of jam and sambal are waiting. It is Autumn now and the nights are getting colder but I have been able to access a supply of wood, and with the airconditioning as well the house is lovely and warm and cosy. Winter is around the corner and the native plants will all start to flower, some wait until Spring. ,Springtime is still cool so the fire is set and there is plenty of wood under cover. It is a delight to snuggle down on the couch by the fire with a good book while it rains outside, very relaxing & comforting. Just reclining in our new Lazyboy rockers is heaven after a busy day sightseeing or you may prefer to sit on the extremely comfortable outside chairs, with a glass of wine, relax and watch the parrots and honeyeaters come to the birdfeeder for their last feed of the day and delight you all with their variety and antics, especially the pink and grey galahs that love to squabble over their place at the feeder. The bronzewing pidgeons try to bully them all out of the way with some success. The small wrens, firetails, pardelotes and silvereyes are the last to feed and love the coconut I put out. The Bibbulmun Track can be accessed from the bottom of the garden which gives a beautiful scenic walk along the Inlet, but if you like something more challenging you can cross the road and take the walk to the top of Monkey Rock, and be enchanted with the glorious views over the Inlet and the Southern Ocean. Ocean Beach is only a few minutes drive around the Inlet, and if you have a boat it can be launched at the boat ramp just a few hundred metres along the road. That spot is a favourite with the Pelicans, they like to perch on the uprights of the jetty and make excellent photo opportunities. From October to April all the migratory birds congregate near the bar, a joy to watch.
Denmark is a charming little town on the Denmark River which opens into the Wilson Inlet, which then opens through the bar into the Southern Ocean. The bar has just been opened for this year following the wonderful rainfall we have had and the water is running freely into the ocean. It is in the middle of the forest of tall Karri trees, on the edge of a rugged coastline of cliffs pounded by the Southern Ocean. Ocean Beach is a famous surfing beach, while 13 ks along the Walpole Road is William Bay with the superb beaches of Mad Fish Bay, Elephant Rocks and Greens Pool all withing walking distance, famous for the huge smooth outcrops of rocks and safe swimming beaches. The renowned wineries and cafes are just lovely scenic drives along Mt. Shadforth or historic Scotsdale Road, fun to discover. The whole of the Great Southern is delightfully green right now, and the canola flowers bright yellow which makes the drive a thing of beauty. Even better the wildflowers coming out now will be superb this year, that rainfall was such a blessing after dry years. With the Bibbulmun Track at the end of the the garden there are walks of great beauty around the Inlet and to Monkey Rock.
