Stay at The Old Butter Factory, where history lingers, and memories are made. The Old Butter Factory (circa 1893) offers three types of accommodation. A unique stay just off the Hume highway, ten minutes from the lovely townships of Rutherglen and Chiltern, fifteen minutes to Wangaratta and thirty minutes to Beechworth and Albury/ Wodonga. We offer (2x) Two bedroom units with lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Milkmaids Rest and The Buttermakers cottage - where vintage charm meets modern comfort. There is also a Backpackers studio ( The Buttery Nook) which sleeps up to five in a shared bedroom with a separate lounge containing fridge,microwave,toaster and kettle. The newly renovated bathroom is outside the unit ,private, for the use of this unit with a short covered walk down the causeway of the butter factory. There is an outdoor,covered kitchen off the barn available to use. Due to the nature of the building wifi can be tricky to access. The Old Butter Factory is unique,boutique accommodation. It is old, quirky and relaxing. You will leave wanting to return!

We are creatives who enjoy meeting new people and listening to their stories. We live on the premises and are currently enjoying renovating our butter factory into a comfortable home. We also love to travel. We love exploring the local area as well as wider Victoria , Australia and the world.

Springhurst is a quite town, located just off the Hume highway. A short drive to Rutherglen or Chiltern is recommended for food, drink and just a visit!
