The town is full of gorgeous buildings and has featured many movies and tv series..... including Mad Max, Ned Kelly, Bloom, The Leftovers, and many more. All your needs are within walking distance of The Vicarage, cafes, IGA supermarket, grocers, newsagents (with ATM), chemist, one of the best butchers in regional Victoria. And of course a real country pub, The National Hotel is a slice of history and the heart of the town. Be sure to visit on a Friday or Saturday night and meet the locals. We call Clunes the Half Hour Town, because everything is within a half hour drive.... Daylesford, Hepburn Springs, Ballarat, Castlemaine, Maldon, The Pyrenees Wine Region and lots of state and national parks. All this makes the town a perfect place to base yourself for a weekend escape. There is lots of on site parking, plus The Vicarage is a short walk from the train station. The shops and restaurants are all within walking distance.
