We have lived and worked on four continents and traveled extensively, finally settling in Australia. We found Maleny purely by chance and fell in love with everything it has to offer and love that we are able to share this special part of the world with others.

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space. Wallaby House is a purpose built, 3-bedroom 2-bathroom house, on a 5-acre property on a hillside overlooking the rain forest trees and lake. This home is ideal for a peaceful, tranquil get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Relax on the large deck and soak up the sounds of nature. The well-appointed, spacious guest cottage has adjacent parking and free Wi-Fi. The open plan living-dining-kitchen area leads on to a large private deck with ceiling fans, outdoor dining table and barbecue. The kitchen has high end appliances and there is an indoor dining area. Televisions can access DTV and streaming services. There is a wood burning fireplace with enough wood and kindling provided for your stay during the colder months. There is also a reverse-cycle air-conditioner and fans for heating and cooling. Bedrooms one and two are in the main house and bedroom three is across the enclosed courtyard. The house is ideal for large families with older children. Wallaby is one of four guest cottages at On Burgum Pond Cottages. Part of the property is a nature access strip, and the property is therefore not fenced. There is an abundance of bird and wildlife, including a vast variety of birds (kookaburras, galahs, cockatoos, herons, white egrets, king parrots and lorikeets, to name a few), wallabies, echidnas, bandicoots, possums and our free-range chickens. All can be viewed and enjoyed on the large deck. Wallaby House and its adjacent parking is all on one level. We do allow pets, with an additional pet fee, and dogs must be kept on leash when on the property due to the bird and wildlife.

Maleny is a popular hinterland tourist destination. The town is close to everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer, but still manages to retain it's unique "village" charm. In recent years Maleny has become well known as a health retreat and wedding destination. There are a number of markets nearby (including the famous Eumundi Market) and we are only 20 minutes away from Australia Zoo and 40 minutes to Kings Beach. There are also award winning (and famous) local producers and some fantastic eateries and unique shops in Maleny town centre.
