Walter’s is an idyllic beach house perched on a hill, offering north facing views overlooking the beautiful Shelly Beach and beyond. With the canvas of blue stretching out to the horizon in front of you, it’s easy to see why this quiet cul-de-sac location was named Azure Street. Salty air and the sounds of the sea will set the tone for your coastal vacation. Walter’s is one of the original beach shacks of the area, and offers delightful authentic charm. For the namesake Walter himself, think old fashioned snorkel gear, terry towel hats, fishing off the rocks, and a seadog’s tall tales told over an ice-cold beer and fresh prawns wrapped in newspaper. Walter’s home has been thoughtfully restored and styled to merge the laidback charm of this beachside area with Byron Bay cool - think MCM House furniture, and a new modern kitchen with herringbone tiles. The upper level has a large balcony, open plan living, and two good sized bedrooms both offering ocean views from Queen sized beds. Sea views are present throughout the upstairs level - even, ahem, from the loo. The lower level has two bedrooms (one with two singles and the other a double), and a lounge nook ideal for a good book. A few minutes stroll along a footpath leads you to the lifeguard-patrolled Shelly Beach, with fantastic surf breaks, rock pools where children frolic, and the Shelly Beach cafe. In fact, there are 3 cafes within a brief stroll of the house, as well as the chic Italian restaurant Capiche overlooking Lighthouse Beach. The scenic coastal walk and cycle path runs from North Wall to Sharpes Beach and all the way to Lennox Head. Other local activities also abound. Sleeps 7, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Double Carport.
