Our love for history, our city and country, and the opportunity to meet other people and hear about their experiences coming from different cultures, are the main drivers keeping our business going and motivating us to improve it constantly. Our apartments were set up with one primary purpose and idea in mind - to allow foreigners to feel the true Bosnian hospitality, that has been the trademark of our country and specifically Sarajevo as its capital, for centuries. Therefore, our work includes much more than just renting you, our guest, an apartment; getting the space itself ready is only the first step. All the apartments at Green Gate are fully equipped for a short- to medium-length stay, and feature private bathrooms/toilets, kitchenettes, and comfortable beds for two, all of it decorated with the idea of creating a blend of modern and traditional Bosnian design and elements. Experience has taught us that the apartments are ideally suited for two people. The neighborhood we are located in is considered one of the most beautiful ones of the city. We live in the same property and could not imagine living anywhere else, thanks to being only a few hundred meters from the center, in a very serene and peaceful neighborhood. Originally built in the 16th century, the Sagrdžije mahala (neighborhood) was once part of the Baščaršija city center, and was crowded with leather shops. As the years went by, it became more of a residential than commercial part of the city. It still has some of the remnants from these early days, such as the Ulomljenica and Mimar Sinan mosques, built in the 16th century, and the Hadži Sinan tekki, built in the 17th century. Around 150 m from our place, you can find the Svrzo's house, which is part of the Museum of Sarajevo and an ideal representation of a wealthy family's home and lifestyle from the period of the Ottoman rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Overall, the neighborhood is a wonderful one to live in, as it's a very quiet place due to limited traffic, has a great view of the Old town and is a very safe part of Sarajevo.
