The split-level apartment (Coral Sands) is mainly booked by two to four guests, but has space for up to six persons. AC is in the two bedrooms. The penthouse (Carib Edge) is mainly booked by two persons, but has a sofa bed for a third person in addition. The penthouse has AC throughout (bedroom and living room). Both condos have many ceiling fans in addition to AC and many windows to open, AC is therefore often not needed. Both apartments are an ideal place to unwind in Caribbean atmosphere, a romantic getaway for couples, but very pleasant for a family holiday as well. Several guests described the well-equipped apartments as "a home from home". Both apartments are quite large and contain modern furniture, Coral Sands also some antique mahogany pieces. The Italian kitchens are both very well stocked with larger and smaller electrical appliances and everything else you might need. We also provide beach towels, beach chairs, sun umbrellas and snorkeling equipment. Our local caretaker Sonjia works in the apartment building three days per week; outside her working hours she can be contacted easily by phone.

The owners Maria and Thilo are both university geologists, meanwhile pensioned, but still travel a lot. We stayed many years in Barbados and preferred always the west coast as compared to the much more crowded and often noisy south, where the ocean waves are often high. We were looking for a safe harbor in an area not overcrowded by tourists and found it here in Speightstown in apartments facing the sea but close to the amenities of Speightstown. We do not live permanently on the island, our caretaker Sonjia represents us if not present. Our properties face the beach of the so called 'platinum coast'; the area has a fair amount of tourism but is not at all overcrowded. There is a good beach directly in front, and many other sandy beaches are nearby. The famous Heywoods beach to the north is just 5 minutes walk away along Sand Street: it is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. All needed amenities (shops, restaurants, beach bars), and also the interesting Arlington museum can be reached easily by foot in a few minutes, many others by car. Expensive premises like Port St. Charles, Port Ferdinand or Nikki´s beach club are in walking distance, but we prefer the smaller establishments in the centre of Speightstown nearby. The bus terminal is reached by foot in 3 minutes; with local buses you can get to most places on the island easily and cheaply.
