Cyclists and mountain bikers are spoiled with an extensive network of routes that allow them to travel even in French Flanders. Several car routes such as the "Eigen kweek route" and wine routes are also recommended. And French Flanders with its beautiful villages, its picturesque views and its delicious Picon is just a stone's throw away. Between the Rode- and Zwarteberg you can enjoy a wide panorama on the Cordoba chairlift. Moreover, excursions to the sea or kayaking and canoeing on the IJzer are just a few of the numerous relaxation options You can enjoy endless shopping in Ieper, Poperinge or Lille, a shopping paradise of many boutiques in car-free shopping streets, as well as the Euralille shopping center,in just half an hour from Heuvelland. For music lovers, the Muziekcentrum 't Folk is also worth a visit with its many free performances.

Heuvelland bears visible traces of the war past. The dividing line between the German attacker and the Allied troops ran through Heuvelland. The numerous bunkers (Lettenberg in Kemmel), mine craters, military cemeteries and war memorials are permanent scars.
