The house of "Matin tranquille" was built in 1932 by a contractor who took back beautiful elements from a bank that had burnt down: carved stones, ironwork, doors... The "Art nouveau" side of the building is therefore "of recuperation" ;) It was our family home from 1986 to 2009, when it became a three bedroom Bed and Breakfast : Matin tranquille (quiet morning). Quiet mornings—isn't what we all dream of?

Before opening my bed and breakfast, I studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Liège. My work from this period can be found all over the house.

The house is in a quiet residentiel area, the district of the "Citadel" on the heights north of Liege. In the 80's, the regional hospital took the place of the fortifications in a green area overlooking the city, less than 2 km from the hyper center. In the green and quiet on the HILL* between three parks : the Naimette-Xhovémont park, the Peace park and the hillsides park of the Citadel. You have many options to reach the city center : - you can hop on a bus at the corner from our street to the very center (place Saint Lambert - less than 5 minutes ride) - you can reach the viewpoint of the Citadelle park (less than 2km) and from there, you can walk down to the city via the famous Montagne de Bueren stairs (Bueren is the prince-bishop who had them built) or take a bucolic path that leads you to the city center. - or you walk towards the park Xhovémont and then, like a step back in time, the medieval street Naimette. * On foot, to go down you just have to let yourself be rolled, to go up it's more sportive ;)
