According to Federal Law No. 8.069 / 1990, minors under 18 years of age can not check-in at hotels unless they are accompanied by their parents or a legal guardian. Please also note that if the minor is accompanied by an adult other than a parent, they must submit a written authorization to check in at the hotel. This authorization must be notarized, signed by parents and be presented with certified copies of parents' identity documents.
In addition, children under 18 years of age also need to present a valid ID with photo, to prove their identity and that of their parents. This document must be presented even if a minor is accompanied by parents.
In the case of a minor accompanied by only one parent, they must present an authorization signed by the absent parent, notarized along with a certified copy of his/her identity document.
