What can be said about a couple in their 40's who packed up their life in the US and moved to the beach in Belize? Well, whatever you call them, that was us. We lived on the beach for almost 20 years and then in our 60's moved to CAYO District of Belize. We have been in Cayo since 2008 with our two rescue dogs and really like living in such a welcoming area. The outdoor living, the slower pace, and the huge farmers market gives us the ability to live a cheaper and healthier lifestyle, if we choose. Because Belize is such a small country, the beaches are not far away so, like in the states, we take a two hour trip to the beach where we can dive, snorkel or fish to our hearts content.
