We are 2 prairie-born Canadians who made the move to Vancouver Island in 2016 where we lived in an off-grid tiny home. Stewards of the land, curious by nature and nurturing hosts, we care about the stuff that really matters - time with the ones we love most. We are cat moms to Maple, an adventure cat who likes to supervise our work and kayak with us on warm days. We love seeing the old become new again. We find great joy finding diamonds in the rough and restoring them to a functional and beautiful state. This is exactly what we are doing now at this iconic resort. It is our hope that our guests come, take a load off, and spend some quality time in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Jade is nestled into a hillside, harmoniously blending with nature. Built in 1972, these newly updated accommodations have unique quirks and charm. Each suite has a balcony or dedicated outdoor space with views of Gowlland Harbour. Enjoy the comforts of free high-speed WiFi, full kitchens, brand new beds, and self-check in. We're on 2.5 acres of waterfront land, offering beach access just steps away. Wildlife sightings are abundant, including otters, porpoises, seals, eagles, herons, shorebirds, whales, dolphins & more. King suites are located at ground level & Chalets are situated above them. We recommend booking a Chalet if you don't want to hear noise from guests above. During July, Aug & long weekends, you'll experience a lively community vibe with more hustle & bustle, likely meeting other guests along shared corridors. The rest of the year, it's tranquil. *Loading zones are near the resort but long-term parking is at the top of the hill near the entrance. Chalets have steep stairs. A quiet neighborhood with family homes nearby. Conveniently located within 10 minutes from Quathiaski Cove, Rebecca Spit, local shops and restaurants. Quadra island is brimming with art, gardens, swimming holes, rock climbing, bike trails, hiking trails, and beaches. The people on Quadra Island care about the island and all its inhabitants, including the wildlife that call this place home. We take care of the water table, reduce, reuse, recycle, and help each other out.
