Home of Wiarton Willie, famous for Groundhog Day Prediction in February. All your amenities are just a few minutes away including Foodland, Tim Hortons, Wiarton Hospital and Wiarton Airport. This location is 30 minutes to Lion's Head and its beautiful beach and star gazers. Also only 45 minutes to Tobermory you will find Flowerpot Island, The Grotto, and its exquisite caves as well as two national parks. For biking enthusiasts try Bruce Peninsula Mountain Bike Adventure Park or discover the many beautiful trails for hiking and adventure.

My personal favorite time is sitting on the dock in the evening and watching the sunset. Every night seems like it has its own unique colours to discover. Whether you choose to explore the many hiking trails, go boating or kayaking on the bay you will find many enjoyable activities in this quaint little town of Wiarton which is part of South Bruce Peninsula. What I love about Wiarton is that it’s so close to all the amenities. Only 5 minutes away you will find Foodland, Tim Hortons, LCBO, Pharmacy, TD Bank , Royal Bank, Green Door Café, Wiarton Inn Restaurant, New Orleans Pizza, Dockside Willies, Hungry Hanger, and I recently discovered Sweet Things Dejong Acres right on Berford Street and also Lost Art Espresso Bar. If you’re craving ice cream, Lloyd’s has wonderful homemade ice cream. Some of these spots are deceiving from the outside but I have enjoyed lovely small-town service and hospitality in these establishments. Wiarton is also the home of Wiarton Willie, famous for Groundhog Prediction Day in February. There are so many cool things to do in the close vicinity. The Bruce Caves, Spirit Ridge Conservation, Farm on the Lake (goat farm) and Bluewater Park and Wiarton Marina are only 5 minutes away. Sauble Beach, Harrison Park and Lion’s Head are about 30 minutes away, too. These spots are worth the short drive. All these attractions are great for family and friend adventures! Wiarton is only 30 minutes to Lion's Head and its beautiful beach and star gazing. Lion’s Head is part of the Dark Sky Community. You can see the splendid sky on summer nights with powerful telescopes and even with the naked eye. (Bayside Astronomy is a free program offered in the summer at Lion’s Head Marina) I have personally attended these gatherings and it’s so interesting to see the planets, stars and their moons with the guidance of the members of the club. A 50-minute drive takes you to Tobermory where you will find some fun boat tours. Lots to see! Explore the beauty :)
