The Captain's House was built by captain David J. Burke in 1905 in the centre of boom town Midland on Georgian Bay, 100 kms north of Toronto. Furnished with heirlooms and original art, The Captain's House won the Heritage Merit Award from the town of Midland for the period-sensitive renovations the owner undertook in 2014. Guests enjoy old world charm and modern conveniences like free wi-fi and air-conditioning, as well as a Walkability Score of 84.
Our house is your house. Ross, your host, is an artist, writer and gourmet cook. What he doesn't make in house, he tries to source locally for his legendary breakfasts. Your hostess Ginette, also an artist, has managed idyllic properties in the near North of Canada. Elle parle francais, aussi! Experience it and you'll agree, the Captain's House is a perfect base for exploring Georgian Bay and historic Huronia.
Midland Harbour is three blocks down the street. There you can take day trips on Georgian Bay, the finest fresh water cruising region in the world. All the best shops, galleries, theatres, pubs and restaurants are with walking distance.
