فرنسا"Dulce was an incredibly responsive and helpful host, sharing many tips. The house is clean and cosy. To keep in mind is the public shuttle logistics to get to the hike paths but they leave from right in front of Casa Medina."

Casa Medina is located in the small center of the rustic village of Chã de Igreja on Santo Antao. From the balcony you have a direct view of the church and the adjacent central square of the village. Behind the house is a garden with banana trees. The house has recently been renovated and has a bedroom on the ground floor and a bedroom on the first floor. Although you can eat outside for little money, the house also has its own kitchen. A simple bathroom with shower makes it complete for a relaxing stay in the village.
My family on my mother's side comes from this village of Chã de Igreja. It is always very nice for me to be welcomed by our family here. It feels like time has stood still here.
At Chã de Igreja, a lot of sugar cane is planted, which is used to distill the local spirit Grogue. If you ask in the village, there is certainly someone who can show you how they make it. The village is also the ideal base or stopover for one of the beautiful walks you can take in the mountainous Santo Antao. There are a number of hiking trails that you can walk with the most beautiful views. From the village you can also walk to the north coast of Santo Antao in about 15 minutes, where you can enjoy freshly caught fish, lobster or octopus in restaurants.
